How to Setup Your Email Account on the iPhone


1. From the home screen, tap Settings

2. On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars

3. Tap Add Account...

4. Tap Other

5. Under the Mail subheading, tap Add Mail Account

6. Complete the following fields:

Name – The name that will be displayed when emailing others
Email – Your full email address
Password – Your email account password
Description – Used to identify this email account on your iPhone (can be the same as your email address)

7. Tap Next

8. Tap IMAP or POP

9. Enter your Incoming Mail Server information:

Host Name – Your mail server hostname. Please refer to your accounts control panel of contact Sectorlink support 
User Name – Your full email address
Password – Your email account password

10. Enter your Outgoing Mail Server information:

Host Name – Your mail server hostname. Please refer to your accounts control panel of contact Sectorlink support
User Name – Your full email address
Password – Your email account password

11. Tap Save.  Note: the following three steps can take some time (up to a few minutes) to complete.

12. You may get a message saying Cannot Verify Server Identity. If you do, tap Continue.

13. You may get a message saying Cannot Connect Using SSL. Tap Yes.

14. You may get a message saying The SMTP server "[Server Hostname]" is not responding. Tap OK then tap Next then tap Save.  If you receive this "not responding" message, refer to the section "Setting Alternate SMTP port" below.

15. Tap Save

 

Setting Alternate SMTP port

You will need to complete these steps if you receive a "not responding" message in step 14 above.

1. Under the Accounts subheading, click on your new mailbox

2. Under the IMAP subheading, tap Account

3. Under the Outgoing Mail Server subheading, tap SMTP

4. Under the Primary Server subheading, tap [Server Hostname]

5. Make sure Use SSL is set to On

6. Consult Sectorlink support for a value to enter for Server Port.  This may be 465 or 587, depending on your account.

7. Tap Done

8. Exit by clicking the physical home button on your iPhone 

You’re all done! Click the envelope icon on your iPhone’s home screen to access your email account.

If you have any problems, delete the account you just created and start over.

The following steps will walk you through the deletion process:

1. From the home screen, tap Settings
2. On the Settings screen, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Under the Accounts subheading, click on your new mailbox
4. Tap Delete Account
5. Exit by clicking the physical home button on your iPhone
